How to Choose the Right Colored Contact Lenses for Your Eyes

Choosing a lens colour is mostly about the effect you want: a natural look that is barely noticeable, or a visible change that gets noticed. Here is a simple method in three questions.

1. What is your natural eye colour?

This matters most, because a colored lens sits over your iris. The same shade therefore looks different on everyone.

  • Dark eyes (dark brown, black): brown, hazel and honey shades look the most natural. Greys and blues create a more noticeable change.
  • Light eyes (blue, green, grey): almost every shade stays natural. A blue or green intensifies your colour; a brown changes it completely.
  • Hazel or light brown eyes: you can go either way, from natural gold to bright grey.

2. What effect do you want?

  • Natural, for every day: pick a shade close to your own colour, with nuances, such as 3D Hazel, 3D Brown, Wonderlook Amber or Wonderlook Sand.
  • Bright: a light grey or a blue, such as Wonderlook Snow, 3D Dove or 3D Blue.
  • Dramatic, for evenings: a strong contrast with your natural colour, for example silver grey or bright green on dark eyes.

3. What skin tone and style?

Warm shades (honey, hazel, amber) suit golden skin tones and brown hair. Cool shades (grey, icy blue) bring out fair skin and very dark or platinum hair. It is not a strict rule: go with what you love.

Our tips to get it right

  • Look at the photos of each shade worn on the eye: they show the real lens, not just the box.
  • Start with a shade close to your own colour if it is your first pair.
  • With the Wonderlook offer (any 5 pairs for 150 DT) you can try several colours.
  • See an eye care professional before first use.
